Astronomy Days 2014

Astronomy Days is the premier space and astronomy event in eastern North Carolina. It is held over two days at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the Nature Research Center in downtown Raleigh.

Astronomy Days features a wide range of astronomy and space themed presentations, exhibits, activities, and workshops. The activities can be enjoyed by all ages and the event is always free of charge!

Keynote Speaker Announced
Dr. Jim Green

This year the Astronomy Days event is pleased to announce the keynote speaker is Dr. James Green, Director of the Planetary Science Division at NASA. He is responsible for all Planetary Science activities at NASA and and is the top advocate for this program. He works closely with the world science community on all things related to planetary science. Dr. Green will be giving several presentations on 50 Years of Solar System Exploration: New Worlds, New Discoveries.

 
Updated Speakers and Worskshop Scheduled Posted

The updated schedule for speakers and workshops have been posted!!! There are a lot of good speakers on the schedule this year.

 
Many NASA Exhibits at Astronomy Days 2013

NASA will have a large presence at the Astronomy Days 2013 event with multiple speakers, activities, and displays in the Environmental Conference Center on the 4th Floor of the Nature Research Center. The activities focus on Mars and solar System Exploration an will include crafts and interactive shows.

 
Astronomy Days Moved Back to January

After two years of being held in late May, the Astronomy Days event has been moved back to January. Prior to the last two years, this event had traditionally been held in the last weekend in January. We look forward to seeing everyone at this year' event on January 26/27th, 2013!
